The report, of the committee appointed by the Foreign Office to consider the fostering of a greater spirit of solidarity amongst British communities in foreign countries, and making British ideals tnoro generally known and appreciated by, foreign nations, incidentally mentions that in consequence of protests by Britishers that their children born abroad are deprived of British nationality under the Act passed in 1914, the Home Of. fice is considering modifications for discussion at the next Imperial Conference, whose concurrence is necessary. Tho report favours voluntary as against compulsory registration of _ Britishers ■abroad.' and favours subsidies for the establishment and maintenance of British schools. • It. faours the establishment of British chambers of commerce and patriotic societies with public-spirited objects, but does not recommend subsidising British newspapers, although the latter, if well managed, may do.much good. All possible support should be given to the British film industry, also the Boy Scout nnd Girl Guide movements.-l'mperial Notts, Service.
