REVIEW OP FOURTEEN MONTHS', « OPERATIONS. - ! According- to a return, issued by the ; Director of Repatriation (Mr. J. li. Samson)/there are at present 77,199 names on the'register of the Repatriation Department. So far the Department had secured employment/ for IG.CBI men, ami only 168 names remained on the " p iU' ployment wanted" register. During the past month a further 121. partially disabled soldiers, apprentices, etc., hud commenced training, making a total of J319 for whom training had been arranged to date. The Ministerial l!oa,r,d had approved 3131) loans for the establishment of discharged soldiers in business, involving "an expenditure of ~TBI,422, and up to March 20 the sum cf ■£1,(160,32(1 had actually been expended by the- Department oil behalf of soldiers, the amount being made up as follows:— ■ Loanss ' Business, X 692.550 fnrmturij, .£221,382; ; tools, -etc.. .£14,017.. Grants: Unemployment sustenance. ,£4,021;' Irainin", .1:123,742; transportation, .£3098; grand total, £1,0(10,320. .Of the loan total, approximately ,£IOO,OOO was ad-' yanced freo of interest.
