London, April 27. Tho Coinmitteo on Taxation of War Fortunes has practically agreed to a scherno embodying a scale of abatement in respect to pre-war wealth. If the prewar wealth was under A' 25,000, tho abatement will be 100 per tent, ithe wholo amount), if from ,£i>s,p(H) to ,450,000, the abatement will be 65' per cent.; if between ,£200,000 and .£501),M0, it will be 31 per oont. Tho'diminished value of money will be talien into account in drawing up the final scheme. It is estimated that 500 millions will bo forthcoming from 75,000 taxpayers.—Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
