ANNUAL MEETING 01? SOCIETY. Tho annual meeting of- the Anglican Boys' Homes Society was held last, night, Bishop Sprott (tho patron presiding. Tho annual report stated that although there had not been any great extension of tho society's work, the year had moved fi vory successful one. _ Mr. Charles Ja. Lovien had been appointed organising financial secretary in February, but owing to unforseen circumstances Ins tour of the district had had to bo suspended for -a fortnight, and it was too oar.y to say what results would be obtained. It was hoped, however, that a sufficient BU fn would bo obtained for commencing the building of tho new home, the estimated cost of w.hich was ,-GGOOO. The prepent financial position of tho society was following officers were elected Patron, Bishop Sprott; president, Mr. J. W. Henderson; vice-presidents, Eevs. A. L. Hansell ond J. H. Sykes, Messrs. J. W A. Marchant and T. R. Lees; executive, Messrs. H. Baillio, 11. B. Gordon, Rev. W. 11. Walton. Mesdames Anson, Walton, and Miss Slovens; lion, treasurer, Miss M. A. Jlari'liant; lion, secretay, Mr. F. 11. auditor, Mr. G. F. Judd. ! . • , Mr. J. W. Hendor9on brought up tho subject of tho new homo. A small sura, ho said, was already in hand, and the tour of tho organising financial secretary would undoubtedly bring moro funds to hand. It was necessary, however, to obtain a largo sum. To build a new home would lio a oostly procedure, and it might be better to pitrchnse a suitable house. About sixty applications had had to be declined during tho year owing to lack of accommodation.
