ALICE PARKINSON RELEASE COMMITTEE
1 WAITS ON PRIME MINISTER AND ON GOVERNOR-GENERAL. Ey TolegrarJi-Preßß Association. Auckland, April 23. The Alice Parkinson Release Committee waited on the Primo Minister this morning to ask him whether anything would ho done .in the way of approaching the Prince of Wales for tho release of tn« prisoner. Mr. Massey told the deputation that it was not a matter in whfc'h the Prince uf Wales could possibly interfere. He advised- them to communicate with tin.-. Minister of Justice, or with the Judgo. who sentenced the prisoner; or, as a third couise, to have tho petition, which has Already been largely signed, presented to Parliament. These, he explained, were tho only methods ho could think of that were open to the committee and likely to produce any result. The committee also waited upon the Governor-General and presented.a petition with over 100,000 signatures, praying for the release of Alice Parkinson.
