Mr. John Flowers, of Asnhurst, met with a serious accident on Thursday oveniug when returning from Pohangina, which rendered necessary his removal lo the Palmerston North Hospital. Bysome means the motor-cycle ho was riding came into collision with a trap occupied by Mrs. Shadbolt aad Miss Monr. The result was that Hie trap wa overturned and smashed, the occupants escaping with a shaking. Mr. Flowers was not bo fortunate, howover, sustaining a compound fracture of one of his legs.' .Mr. A'. L. Monteith. who recently relinquished the position of secretary of the Wellington Storemen's Union, will be entertained by the members at a smots concert on Thursday next.
