Though the controlled prices of Australian apples remain in force, the trado does not expect these to be reached throughout the season, especially'for the lowo.v qualities, and would not be eurprised to see a considerable reduction at tho end of May when the Wiltshire is due with 180;000 cases. English fruit is very advanced. Gooseberries are already selling at Covent Garden. As a result of the London and Provincial Fruit Buyers Associations' representations, the Ministry of Food has decided that tho price of Australian apples to the first wholesale buyer must: not exceed 20s. lOd. per case, less charges.—Aus.N.Z.
