NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL
MAYOR CONVENES A MEETING. As tho Government lias voted £100,000 towards a National War Memorial, to bo erected in Wellington, it is for Wellington to move in the matter of its form and site. That, at least, is tho idea of tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), who h'a« convened a preliminary meeting of the committee for Tuesday next at 2.30 p.m. ■■■■-. ■ The committee being called together consists of Major-General Sir E. W. C. Chaytor, Brigadier-General G. S. Richardson, Messrs. J. G. Harkness, W. Fer» guson, G. Shirtclifte, W. 11. Morton, and John Campbell. .
