Calderwood (Huntly), who lias been champion since 1914, won without losing a game. Hilliker (Dunedin) tvas runner-up. Boreham (Dunedin), an cx-champion,'was third. Morris (Tuatapere); Brown (Christchurch), and Beck (Timaru) also competed. In a sealed handicap tournament, Wilson (Dunedin)—(3), 15—won . the Hist prize; Sounness (Dannevirke)—(scr,), 11J— was second; Botting (Balelntha) (•}), 141—was third. Following are tho names of some of the other competitors, and their scores:—CarsweU (Mosgiel)—(J), 1-i; E. Morris (Tuatapero)—(2J), 14; W. l r oung (Christchurch)—(2), 13; F. Hntchins (Invercavgill)—(vi), 10k; T. Bussell (Fairlie)—(4), 10}.
