A seamen's strike for twenty-four hours, beginning has been organised in Marseilles and La Havre. The desire to paralyse the trade of the ports is not due to a wages dispute, but us an example of direct action. It is intended to force the Government to release the sailors who mutinied on board the French warships in the Black Sea.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
