STREET DECORATION

FULL SCHEME ASSURED. Mr. A. A. Corrigan, chairman of the Street Decorations Committee, set up in connection with the coming of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, states that a sub-committee met the master builders of Wellington yesterday morning and laid before them the difficulties regarding the cost of the mast and pylon scheme of decoratioiis, which had been tentatively approved, but 011 paper was too costly. As the result of tlw conferencs the master builders rame so generously to the. assistance of the committee, both in respect to labour and material, that the complete scheme will be carried out.

This will be-gratifying news to all interested, as it was considered at Wednesday's meeting that the connecting d-corations would have to be abandoned, and the masts placed 70ft. instead of 40ft. apart. Representatives of the -Street Decoration Committee met officers'of the Government Department yesterday and <1<»crssnd arrangements for the decoration of the public buildings on the route to be taken by the Prince during his visit to Wellington.
