INCREASED COST 0F BUILDING CHIEFLY DUE TO SLOWER WORK (By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Sydney, April 8. Before the BaHic Wage Commission evidence was given that the chief cause of the increased cost of building was the smaller amount of work done. Six years ago a bricklayer laid 900 to 1000 bricks, while now it was considered that laying 350 to 400 was a good day's work, for which a man received 18s. to 20s.—Press Assn.
REFUSAL OF SATURDAY WORK

The Industrial Court dismissed the application by the master builders culling on the Bricklayers' Union to show cause ivhv it should not be dealt with for refusing to work on Saturdays, ns the summons was improperly issued.
