On March 15 last 5,738,046 carcasses of mutton were held in cold store on behalf of the Imperial Government for which 110 space had been allocated m overseas steamers. Of that Quantity 3 770 O'O carcasses were held ill tno North" Island, and 1,967,117 carcasses ill the South Island. The cheese in store (held on same account!) on March 29 consisted of 22G.513 crates in the North Island and '17,098 orates in the South Island. _ Butter in store for tlio Imperial nrnment on March 29 cousisted of r(,4SJ boxes.
