WAIHI MINING DISPUTE
EMPLOYEES' OFFER ACCEPTED. By Telegraph-Press Association. Waihi, April 3. A ballot, , taken by members of the Waihi Miners' Union on the question whether thev would accent the mino owners' offer made at the conference, resulted in a large majority favouring acceptance. The owners are prepared to grant a minimum wage of 15s. Id. for an eighthour day, which includes all surface workers. The minimum to underground workers varies from 15s. .Id. to 15s. 9d., and reaches 17s. for. an eight-hour day, and vonths under 17 years. '7s. fid. per eight-hour day; between 17 and 18. Bs. 6d.: between' 18 and ID. fls. fid.: 'between 10 and 20. 10s. Gd.; and for 20 years and upwards, the minimum provided for general w.orkers. . . , , Overtime shall be pmd for at the rata of tfme and a half for the first threo hours and double time thereafter: double time to embrace work done on Sundays, New Tear's Dav, Boxing Day. Goo<U-ri-dav. Easter Monday, the Sovereigns birthdav, Labour Day and Chnstaas Day. Contractors are to be paid <J per cent, on all net earnings.
