WAIRARAPA DEMONSTRATION RESULTS. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. Masterton, April 3. Tlie demonstration of the United District Fire Brigade's Association opened in Masterton on Saturday afternoon in glorious weather. The attendance of the public was large. There were, brigados■men present from all parts of the North Island, 29 teams in all competing in the various events. In the morning the brigadesmen were tendered a reception by the Mayor of Masterton, (Mr. W. H. Jackson). They then sat in conference for the rest of the morning. After the bnlnnco-sheet and report had been adopted, and other routine business transacted, the conference, adjourned nntil Monday. Following aro the demonstration results :— Onc-Man Ladder.—Masterton B (IT. Braggins), 7 2-ssec, 1; Masterton A. (S. Dixon), 7 4-ssec, 2; Masterton . C. (C Cole), Bsec„ 3. The judge commenced upon this unique event, in which Masterton put 'up record time. Three-men Event.—Nnpier A, 45 2-ssec, 1: Dannevirke A, 48 l-ssec, 2; Spit (Napier), 48 2-ssec, 3. Five-men Hose, Reel, and Ladder.— Masterton, (Msec, 1; Napier. 78sec, 2; Hastings, 79 2-sscc„ 3. On Sunday afternoon the visitors, after attending church'at St. Matthew's, were motored to Greytoun and entertained.' On Monday the demonstrations and the conference will be continued and an official banquet held at night.
