The Royal train will'now arrive at 11.35 a.m. and depart at 12.20 l uu ' ,' i ■ i A sensational runaway and a chase end capture reminiscent of "Wild West tales was witnessed in Masterton on Saturday morning. Whilst a cab was boing loaded with some luggage at tho railway station tho horses took nfright at an approaching motor-lorry and bolted from tho railway yard down Lincoln Road. Here the chase was taken up by a «>y named Gourlay mounted on a pony, who pursued tho runaways into Colombo Roo* where be overtook them and caught one of the reins. On approaching the 6tock bridge Gonrlnv noticed that tho horses would crash into the side of Ihe superstructure. He therefore released the reins and, thus freed, the runaways careered on across the bridge. Gourjay nStain took up the chase and, securing the rein onco more, pulled the animals up within n short distance. No damage w.'.s done to either horses or vehicle. Tho annual meeting of tho Liberal F.-iuthnll Club was held in Featherslon on Thursday, when the following officers wero elected: Patron, Mr. A. C. Holms; iirroidenr, Mr. J. W. It was decided that a deputation wait on the Pukio Football Club with .a view to Amalgamation ns to forming a senior foam. A vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers and to Mr. M'lvor for fencing wire. A farewell uncial was tendered to Kov. Mr. Giundv bv tho Presbyterians of Groytown.
