FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT « PM: YESTERDAY. Present indications are • for Bouth-east( winds, strong to gale, in the far north.' and moderate to strong south-easterlies backing to increasing northerlies elsewhere. Rain is probable in the northern and east coast districts of the North Island, and unsettled conditions, with rain, aro likely to follow generally. Barometer unsteady, rifriifs soon in the north, but falling in the south. A disturbance passing in tho north has been responsible for high easterly, winds and rain northwards of Kawhia and East Cape. Elsewhere the weather has been fair to cloudy generally, ,and southerly breezes hiive predominated. D. C. BATES, Director.
