'.By Telczraph-Press Association,. Christehurch; March 25. The Canterbury Earn Fair opened today, when dock rams were sold. The entry wits 5400, an increase of 500 on last yoar'B figures. There was an exceptionally keen demand for Corrjedale nnd halfbrcd rams, tho former selling up (o 30gns„ as compared with BJgns. :last year, and the latter to 12Jgns.. as againßt 63gnB. Tho prices for these clubscb were the outstanding of the fair. English Lcicesters. which formed about half the total entry, Bold well at up to 14gns., but the lrnntK of suppliers wero not equal 1o the entry, and values subsided before (he finish. There was also an over supply of Romneys. the top price for which was 14gns. The Border Leicester sale was nalchy at up to BJcns.. whilst Lincolns, Southdowns, and Shropshircs were out of favour, the best nricni being 4gns., 55gnB„ and 7gns. respectively.
