Toronto has decided by 21,705 voles (o 2.521 in favour of taking ov?r Iho street railway on the expiration of the private company's franchise in 1921. Forty thousand nounds have been voted by the Ficnch Chamber for Iho filling up and furnishing of the annexes .of the French Embassy at Berlin. ' By a new law, which came into forco in Czecho-Slovnkia on January 1, every article of luxury imported or exported will be subject to a 10 per cent. tax. Forignenx Town Council, composed of Socialists, has refused to accept tho captured German guns sent by the French Government.
