MEETING OF HAiI.BOUR BOARD. The monthly meeting of tho Wellington Harbour Board was held last night. There were present:. Messrs. J. G. Harkness (chairman), M. Cohen, J. G. Cobbc, J. W. M'Ewan, M. Welch, C. H. Chapman, C. E. Danioll, C. M. Turrell, .If.. E. Sinclair, A, D. M'Lcod.

The bank pass-book 6 showed a credit to current account of ,£37,21,3, to imprest account J24G59, and on fixed deposit JJGO.OOO.

Payments for tho month amounted to .£•10,809. '

The chairman, reported that the loan of -£50,000 recently offered to tho public at 5! per cent, had been very handsomely oversubscribed.

The board adopted the report of Hio engineer for the. construction of a verondah at No. 10 berth for the convenience of Nelson and Motueka. fruit boats discharging in wet weather, nnd for the convenience also of passengers arriving by these vessels. The estimated cost was £175.

A request from tho Wellington Central Progress League that the hoard should join tho league was deferred, pending receipt of the league's constitution and rules.
