BRITISH OFFICERS PROSECUTED,
r • London, March 19. ■In continuation of the recent action regarding ■sweepstakes, -the Homo Olfieo is prosecuting two British officers for .selline ticokts in a so-called .{25,000 Orand National sweepstake, organised 'l>y tlifi. .British SeiTices Club in Boulogne in aid of British and French war charities. The m-osccution admitted that this BweeDstake was bona fide. The defendants ..said thev had seen the Home Secretary, ivho suggested that if the sweep, stakes were held it should be abroad. ; The Home Secretary apparently intends to snpnress all sweepstakes. He has already prohibited a Stock Exchange sweep on behalf of St. Dunstan's.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
