EFFORT TO BEAT BRITISH SEA POWER

Washington, March 22. The United Slates is adding eighteen capital ships to the Fleet, with the object of beating British sea power. According to the chairman of the Naval Committee of the House of Representatives, tho United States will possess in 1921 forty-seven capital ships, compared with Britain's sixty; but those of Hie United States will he more modern, and consequently their gun-power will probably bo equal.—Aus.-N.Z.
