« AUSTRALIAN SCHEME. The practicability of-treatiug and turning into woollen /roods Hie greitcr part of Australia's wool clip has been inrcstiprntptl by tho Bureau of Science and Industry. So encouraging have been the result's that the Federal-Government lias authorised the director of the Bureau to proceed further with the matter, nnd .endeavour to secure the- laying down by private enterprise of sufficient plant -in the various -States for the treatment o!\ one-third of tho wool produced in each State.
Tt is proposed, as n first step, to organise meetings of woolgrowors, woollen manufacturers, and others for the purpose of forming a. company in each Prnl» for tho treatment of its wool The Prime- Minister will, if possible, present the. case to growers in all Stita-., beginning with New South Wales aim Yir. torin. The treatment of practically tho whole of tho wool clip is eousidened possible, if steady economical, andetnndiirdised development is l spread over a. reasonable period.
