A meeting of tho "Wellington. Rowing Association Mas held last week, Mr. J. "EvAViddup being in the chair. Matters in connection with the Port Nicholson Regatta, on April 3, were discussed fur- ; ther, and arrangements are to be made for stean-crs to .follow the races, in order -to -give-, the,-publio every opportunity to watch the crews. It was decided that should tho weathor be nnfavourablo for rowing the races at Wellington on Easter Saturday, the regatta, should bo postponed till 'the following Monday, and rowed that day either at Wellington or Petone, depending on the weather. Private advices received from tho various rowing centres point to a "cry successful meeting on Easter Saturday, -the Canterbury clubs aa-e expected 10 have entries for all tho iunior races, and the Wanganui clubs will bo well represented. ' Auckland ' clubs ' will probably enter for tho senior events. It is expected that the champion, D. C. Hadfield, and A. Sharpe, will race for the Pearce Gup. Tho training of tho local crews is progrossing well, but is hampered by the -"northerly weather. Mr. B. M. Spurdle . haa charge of the Star maiden nnd touhs' fours, and is getting good work out of both, especially the latter Mr. i. it. Galvin is coaching tho Star No. 2 maidens "and tho Wellington maidens are under Mr. It. Crawford. This crew also m- ' tends rowing in tho junior fours.
