The most necessitous cases are receiving meagre aid from a surplus from t.ho Anzac Buffet, which had been sot apart for the purpose of the' Commonwealth's proposed gratuity. This, had. the effect of - causing .the soldiers r til approach the Australian authorities for temporary assistance pending the Pavmeut of the' gratuity.
