ATHLETIC.CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING.

The forty-second annual meeting of the members of the Athletic Football Club was held last evening in Dnshns rooms, Cuba Street. Mr. W. S. Ridler, the club captain, presided. . :•■ " The report of the Management Committee stated that the club had experienced a very successful season, and with the return' to normal conditions . the prospects for .tho immediate future appeared particularly bright.: lor tie senior championship at the end of tho usual second round the clubs team was leading, but a curtailment of representative matches caused a third round to be played,'and the team failed:to maintain its advantage and finished a pome ■behind the Winners. The third grade won tho' championship for the second year in succession, and the fifth class team also annexed tho honours in its grade. Seven members of the club gained representative: honours. These/were, in "the North Island team, Messrs. lv. J. iPaton, E. Roberts, and W. Ryan, and, in 'the Wellington representative teim, Messrs. C. Chesterman, G. B. Heley, W. .M'Cabe. L. Spencer, r.nd the three players mentioned above. The report referred to the death of, Mr. J.; P. Murphy, who, during a.long association with the club first as.a player and in later, years as an active officer, was untiring in his efforts in furthering the interests of tho C The statement of accounts showed that the cash in'hand at the beginning of .tho season was .£l2B 15s. 2d„ and receipts for Iho year amounted to ,£lO2 ll». w., making I total of X23lGs.Bd.
