Very complete arrangements ai;e being made for the swimming carnival to be held .at the Te Aro 'baths 011 Saturday "under the joint management of the 'Wellington Centre of : the>;N.Z.A.S.A., the Royal .Life Saving Association, and the Wellington -Surf Association. Miss G. Shand, of G'hrisLchuvch, ex-lady champion of Now Zealand, and Miss K. ISristed, 'of Christclnirch, will alw compete in the 100 yds. Miss Edna' Walrond, junior lady champion of New Zealand, will also be a competitor at the meeting. E. G. Patterson; of Wellington, will make an attempt ■to lower his New Zealand record, for 150 yds., established when lie was clocked to do COsec. at Auckland recently. C. Claridge, also of Wellington, and a junior champ'on, will make an attack on the quarter-miln'ohampionship time.
