ENGINEER ASSAULTED
STRUCK ON HEAD WITH BOTTLE. By Telegraph—Prof6 Association. ' Christchurch, March 17. At 4Jie Lyttelton Magistrate's Courl James Kicol, second engineer of tho Opihi, pleaded guilty to a chargo of assaulting Percy Hunter, chief engineer, striking him on the head with a water hoi tie, causing a severe gash. Accused was fined A's and expenses, in default one month's-imprisonment. The charge was Vought under the Crimea Act, but ivaa reduced to one of common nseault.
