MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Captain Hennah and Mr. B. D. Hanlon, j J.IVs, presided over a Short sitting of tho Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Myra Donaldson, an old offender was sentenced to six months' imprisonment o.i a chargo of l>eing a rogue and vagabond in that she possessed insufficient lawful,means of support, and <>n a second chargo of loitering iir Too* Street for I immoral purposes she was convicted and I 'liscliaVged. Minnie 'O'Connor was sent to prison for one month for loitering in Willis Street for immoral purposes. A sentence of six months' imprisonment was inflicted on Gordon Holmes Barrett, who was ' founfl guilty_ on & charge of indecent exposure in Tinakori Road. Barrett was convicted of a similar offence in ISIIS. On charges of drunkenness, four first offenders were dealt with in the usual lenient manner. ■ A remand to Friday was granted in the case of "William James Roach, charged with the theft at the Lower Hutt of 'jewellery, valued at .£l2, the v property of "Winifred O'Halloran. Kathleen Elanore Morton, charged with the theft of .£313 25., tho property of the Y.W.C.A., was remanded until AVednesday next. 1 / A remand* to Wednesday next was granted in the case of Dennis Quilligan, charged with the theft' of drapery and furs valued at .£214 35., the property of Vathewan's Ltd. ' Mary Sybella Webster was remanded to Woi. 4 .esday on a chargo of stealing a gold ring set with diamonds, valued at. U;M, the property of Jane I'lynn.
