Barrett was convicted of a similar offence in ISIIS. On charges of drunkenness, four first offenders were dealt with in the usual lenient manner. ■ A remand to Friday was granted in the case of "William James Roach, charged with the theft at the Lower Hutt of 'jewellery, valued at .£l2, the v property of "Winifred O'Halloran.
