London, March 10. • The first General Council of the League of"tho-Red Cross Society hag concluded at' Genev- -It'was, attended by delegates from twenty-seven. countries.' At the'first conference the chairman stated that the object was to develop a plan for calling/upon the whole world,' through the "Red Cross societies, to -enoperate for the immediate relief of the millions- of people who were powcrleeS to help themselves. 1 ■ ' Sir David Henderson, Director-Gen-eral of-the league, gave an account of the league's activities since its foundation. It'emphasised that it had relieved the needs of Poland and Czecho-Slovakia, by: supplying, large quantities ot medi l cines, food, and clothes,' and combating a serious outbreak' of typhus: At'its final meeting the league, decided totake action regarding the repatriation of war prisoner? .'still,in ■ Siberia and Russia.
