Fat cattle also came forward in larger numboi'B than usual. , T Store sheep; Ewcn composed the bulk of the bin entry, which was mostly of average quality. 'Hie sale was dragging at the start but. improved, though it did not come iiu to last week's valucß at any stage except for good wethers and young ewes, which sold well. Tlio entry contained a number of Marlborough ana Otajro elicen, which did not meet tlio vendors' values. Forward lambs .made 20s. 9d. to 255.; ordinary lambs, 17s. 6d. to 20h. 6d.; cull lambs. 9fl. to 16s. 6(1.;. fairly goad ewe 'lambs, 215.; Rood -twotooth ewes 325. 6d. to 365.; ordinary twotooth ewes, 28s. 6d. to 325.; . inferior twotooth owes, 255.. to 285.; Rood four, fix, and eight-tootli ewes, 295. to 375.; ordinary four, six, and eight-tooth ewes, ?,6s._ to 285.; sound-mouthed ewes, 28s. to -335.; failing-niftutbed ewes, 225. 6d. to 265.; cull ewes, 16s. 9d. to 19s. 3d.; pood four and six-taotli wethers, 29a. 9d. to 325.; ordinary four and six-tooth wethers. 265. to 295.: good two-tooth wethers, 265. to 285.; inferior two-tooth wethers, 235. 6d. to 255. Fat lambs; 3350 yarded, compared with 6600 last- week. The miality generally was rather inferior. A pen of 25 really prime sold at 365. Prime lambs mado 28s. fid. to 335. 6d.: medium, 255. 9<i. lo 2lk; lighter, 235. sd. to 255. 3d. Fat sheep; A very larce yarding the duality not being up to recent standards. The market was about the same as last week, freezing buyers securing a good proportion of tlio entry. Extra prime - wetlierß made 455. 3d. to 515.; prime wethers. 38s. 6d. to 445.; nieiiiirfi wethers, 345. to 375.; lighter wethers, 31s. trt 335. 6d.; prime owes, 355. 6d. to 465.; medium ewes. 30s. 6d. to 355.; lighter ewes, 245. lid. to 295. Fat- cattle; 450 yarded, an increase of 100 on the preceding week's figures. Some good prime beef was torwnrd, the nrflket for which was good, but lighter torts came down to within freezing values, exporters operating on this basis to a fair eitcnt. Extra prime steers made Ut £t7; prima steers, £20 to £25 155.; medium steers. £15 to £19 10s.; ordinary. £12 ss. to £14 155.; prime heifers. £14 7s. 6d. to .£lB 17s. 6d.; lighter, £8 to ,£l3 2s. 6d.: prime cows, £14 15s. to £18; lighter, £11 10«. to .£l4.
