ERZEBERGER'S LIBEL CLAIM
HELITERICH; FINED "FOR INSULT."
Berlin, March- 5. Herr Helfferich was fined 300 marks "for insult." The. lightness of the sentence was: due to the Court holding that he had nroved a number of his allegations- against- Hen' Erzeberger, including untruthfulness and furthering his own interests bv political means.—Aus.-N.Z; Cable. Assn.
THel/ferich (ex-Minister of Finance) accused Erzeberger (Ministeri of Finance) of being, a "political business man" representing political corruption of the worst kind. Erzeberger drew, according to Helfferich, two thousand a year from the Thvssen Company while- in Government emolovment. The action- mentioned in the cablegram was one of libel taken by Erzeberger.]-
