A public meeting resolved to erect the > 1 tVestland War Memorial in the design of i cenotaph, to cost not less than ilJfO. The site will be Cass Square, and designs are to be called for. It is proposed to lay the foundation stone nn/rrzac Day., The funds required will be raised :> by voluntary contributions. A pillar of greenstone within tho cenotaph bo engraved with the names of the fallen Westland men. The monument will bear the following inscription, - suggested by • > . Frederick HarQson. of Bath, for the ; London cenotaph: "We lie dead in many lands so that you may live here.in peace." ■■
