Mr. William M'Adoo suggests that the United States should purchase tho British Dossflssions on tho Atlantic coast, including Bahamas, Bermudas, and Jamaica, diving Britain credit therefor against the war dobt of .£1,277,000,000 (?). The prohibitionists support the proposal because Americans aro flocking to these islands, where the liquor trade is flourishing. Gideon Murray in regard to the American suggestion' that the British West Indies should be ceded to the United States in exchange for the cancellation of certain war debts, Mr. Lloyd George stated that the Government had not the slightest intention of bartering or selling any part of the British West Indies.
