A SOLDIER'S MARRIAGE
DECISION OF DIVORCE COURT. Further mention was made yesterday before tho Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) of the undefended divorce suit in which a returned soldier. Anthony Jack6on, asked that his marriage with Doris Wilson Gellataly be declared void. The ground of the petition was that tho respondent was already married to a soldier in the Imperial Army at the time she wont through the form of marriage with tho petitioner at a registry office in London. At tho hearing on Monday Mr. T. M. Wilford appeared for tho petitioner, while the respondent, who filed no defence, appeared in person. Yesterday Mr. P. J. O'Kegan intimated to His Honour Ilia he had been retained by the respondent having just been instructed. Ilis Honour, in announcing his decision, said that tho marriage was never valid, as the respondent ndmitted that sho was married at the tinio she went thrpiißh the ceremony. The order of the Court would be that the marriage was invalid, hut lie would suspend the decree for a few dnys in order to enable counsel for the respondent, who had only recently been instructed, to nee if there were any grounds for reviewing any phase of tho proceedings.
