KAIKORAI BAND WINS QUICK-STEP By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, March 7. The band contests were concluded on Saturday. Ideal weather prevailed for the quick-step championship, and over 20.000 persons were present. The Caledonian Grounds takings exceeded ,£BOO. Tim financial success of tho conto3t is assured. Results:— Military display and quick-step. First prize, ,£SO; second, ,£2a; third, .£10; fourth. ,£s.—Knikorav 208 points, 1; Woolston and Waiiganui, 2G5 each, 2; Band of 2nd South Canterbury Regiment, 259. 3. The points of the other cpmnetitors were: Invercargill Hibernian, 255J; Palmerston North, 2491; 9th llawke's Bay, 211; 10th Regimental, Blenheim. 23G5: Auckland City, 2,'!5; St. Kilda. 231); 12th Xrtfon and Marlborough, 229: Waterside Workers (Wellington), 229: Ist Canterbury Regimental, 227j Dominion Band. The B Flat Cornet Championship .Solo was won bv B Wills (Inverenrgill Hibernian). with •!() points. 11. Fox (Woolston) was next with 44. and ! W. 11. Osborne ffith South Canterbury) third with 40. The other recalls were: S. Williams (Woolston). 36; J. M'Grath (Wanganui Garrison). 32; M. K. Mara (2nd South Canterbury), 28.
