ORDNANCE PICNIC
Tho members of the New Zealiind Army Ordnance Corps stationed in Wellington held their third annual picnic at Maidstone Park, Upper Hutt, on Monday, March 1, under ideiil weather conditions. A rather lengthy programme of events was got through in excellent order, and some keenly contested races .vroro run. A feature of (he day was the interest taken in everything by some of the senior .officers of the corps, several of-whom competed in many of tho events and in some cases were successful in winning prir.es. The returned soldiers' race was r well contested, and resulted in a win for Colonel Pilkington, who beat J. Batcholor for first place by an inch or two. A very enjoyable day was brought to a close by the presentation of prizes to tho winners bv Col. Pilkington. The results of the sports are as follow:—Ordnance chamnionship, 100 yds.: 1.-Cpl. .T. W.
