Christmas gifts were "received from Mesilames Moorliouse, Litchfield, ■ and 1 Eotherham. Miss Margaret Whitclnw has arrived ,:from--Anckland,' and is staying with her sister, Mrs. J. D. Apologies were received from Mesdames Bcthune, J. Tripe, D. Cooke, Mother Marv Aufcert,. Misses Ingles and Kirkcaldle. Accounts were passed for pay-ment,-and correspondence dealt with. Tho nurses' report was satisfactory.. All the babies visited bv the nurses were progressing.. Sevonty-six new cases were, reported, also 33G visits paid, and 510. •mothers''visits to the rooms. Miss Pongelly, matron of the Hanmor Springs Military' Hospital, has been making a short stay in town before returning to the south. Workers for'the Wellington Free Kindergartens, with' vivid recollections intheir minds of the vagaries of tho w.eather these days, late summer though it ; is, felt- themselves very fortunate when they saw -how i brightly the sun was shining yesterday, for weather, as many women know by practical experience,has much to do with the success 1 of ' street- appeals.
