• LABOUR CANDIDATE ENTERTAINED. The Oranne Hall, Petone, was crowded last night by supporters pf the local branch" of .the Labour Party, when a ''Utcial" was .tendered to Mr.' and. Mrs. D. Pr'itchafd and' those who worked in Mr. Pritchard's behalf during the elec'tion campaien.-. Mr.. J,. Churchouse occupied the .-chair, and-.among those .'present was Mr.,' P.. FraSer, M.P. The chairman said that although they ■had not. been victorious at the poll, they .hail no .regrets., and.' he. congratulated Mr. .Pritchard .on the. -fight he had put up. It would have .been 'impossible, for the party to seleot a. man iv'ho would .'have carried-the,banner joorc ably..than he had done. Mainly owing:to Mr. Pritch. ard. Labour had made, great strides in this electorate. ; ' ' Mr.' fichofield' (chairman of the Labour Representation Committee) congratulated the candidate' on the' 'fight he had put up. He had been with the party twentyfive years. and had never had a harder fiffht than nt' the last election. ; Mr. Bovd aJso inferred to ihe manner in which the. candidate had conducted his campaien. - Mr, Pritchard thanked all.present for the support he had received : at the election, and for the pleasant evening which he and Mrs! Pritchard bad been given. Mr. P.Fraser,- M.P... also addressed the gathering.
