COMPLATNT REGARDING TRAVELLING DISCOMFORTS. Sydney, March 1. Mr. Henry Verbrugghen, replying in the Press to obieotions to his statement that members of the State Orchestra suffered certain railway travelling discomforts in New Zealand, reiterates a glowin" tribute to tho generous hospitality and keen intelligent''appreciation of the'orchestra's .musical efforts shown in every New Zealand city visited. He says: "Tho orchestra is not alone in buffering from tho present insufficient railway accommodation there."—Press Assn: [Speaking to a representative of tho "New Zealand Herald," when the (question of a return visit of the orchestra was mentioned, M. Verbrugghen remarked: "Personally, I should like to come again very much, hit certain circumstances militate against our immediate was mentioned, Mr. Vorbrugghen remarked thjit players in the New South Wales, State Orchestra had beea subjected to very great discomfort during their travels. Qci'tuiii unscrupulous hotelkjepers had treated them as members of a travelling circus, and railway travelling had been far from luxurious. He remarked that they had expected that the Government would provide a special train for tho longer journeys, especially considering the fact that there were over twenty ladies in tho party. "Under these conditions I'should not like to ask the orchestra to travel again," he added. "On the other hand," ho concluded, "we have been very deeply.touched by the wulcome given us in every town, and wo 6!iall carry home the happiest memories of tho , people of New Zealand."]
