FRENCH RAILWAY STRIKE
MOTOR SERVICES BEING ORGANISED. Paris, February 2fl. The railway strike 1 is general. Tho Government is protecting lives and organising motor and other services. The strike threatens to render the Lyons Fair, at which the dominions are largely represented, a frost—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn BEGINNING O? GENERAL SOVIET MOVEMENT. (Rec. March 1, 10.35 p.m.) Paris, February 27. The railwnv strikers have thrown off the mask, and admit that tho striko is the beginning of n, general Soviet movement. Thev demand the nationalisation of the railways, which has become the real crux of the situntion. The strike has not vet bocoroo general, ninny employees in Paris ignoring tho leadership of Hie fanatics. It is significant, that the 'general Federation of Labour withholds recognition of tho. strike—"Tho Timc-.5."
BAILWAYMEN CALLED UP AS SOLDIERS. (Rec. March 2, 1.35 a.m.) London, February 27. The French strike is widely extended, mid the block of most of the systems is complete. The Government is beginning to' call up reibvnymen ns soldiers—"The Times."
