I "THE TIMES" MACHINE DAMAGED. ; Caps Town, February f 27. "The Times" machine arrived at Ta- | bora to-day; all well. Later. The starboard engines of "The Times" machine failed in taking off from Tarbora aerodrome, and the aeropiane crashed, Cockerell's wrist was sprained, nnd Corby's leg bruised. Otherwise no serious damage was done to tho crew. Both '• Tinder-carriages went through the lower planes, and it will bo impossible to repair them without a complete dismantling and a new under-carriage and new lower planes. The tanks, engines, and propellers were untouched bv the crash, but tho engines in any case are hopeless, and require a complete overhaul and new cylinders. The pilots await instructions, as a continuation of tho journey is now hopeiess—Reuter. . THE ROME-TO-TOKIO CONTEST. (Rec. February 29, 5.5 p.m.) Allahabad, February 27.
