RIFLE SHOOTING
OLD NAVAL CLUB. The Old Naval Defence Rifle Club fired tho third match of its third series on Saturday afternoon at Trentham. ino conditions were seven shots and signter at 900 yds., and five shots and sightcr at lOOOvds. Harris... 3 0 5 8 The teams matches resulted in President Rabe's team winning tho badges with a total fc-ore of 115 points. Rifleman Sneddon's team scored 84 points. Tho club will not fire another club match till March 21, but next Saturday some of the members will be competing at the group meeting. The Wellington Rifle Union matches, will tako place for tho senior and junior shieldß on March 14, and the teams selected nre as follow —Senior team: President J. Rabe, Riflemen Sneddon, Conibear. Frnnklvn, Standidge, Del, M'Donald, J. Pitt; T. Kidd, Goldfinch, R. Pnngto and A. Fellows, the last two being emergencies.. Junior team: Dep.-President AV. Harris, R. Pringle A. Felllows J. Evans. C. Prince. J. Moyo, C. Hugo, It. C Collins, J. Butler, F, Patched J. Row, G. Howe, J. Alexander, C. Burdett. and A.' Whytehead. This team includes 'five emergencies. President Rabe's prize was not competed for on Saturday, but will be nred for on March 21 and 28, and will go to the best aggregate put up by handicap men.
SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB. The Suburbs Club fired .the fourth match for the championship and the fourth .match in tho fourth series at ranges 500 and 000 yds. Conditions were not too good for high scoring, a very tricky wind baffling- the marksmen somewhat. The best scoro off the gun was made in A class by V Ross (04), nnd in B class bv A. Shcrbrooke 0. W. Began with 84 each. No club shooting will tako place until after the D.lt.A. meeting. Appended aro Saturday s BC ° reS:l ' A CLASS.
CHAMPION PAIRS MATCH. This mutch for the champion pairs was concluded on Saturday. Th<v conditions wore six matches, the four highest to count. Hiflomcn Cottenll and Lewis ran out the winners with a-credit-able score of G77 points and win £3. 25., donated by the president, Mr. W. J. Mlinglwm. Riflemen Hnrriß and a.eal were second with GG2 points.
KARORI RIFLE CLUB. Members of the Karori Bifle Club fired the first match of the third series nf Trentham range last Saturday at ranges of 9CO and 1000 yards ten shot, and sighter at each range. Though the day was fine, ■hootinsr. conditions were |,v no means ideal, a tricky iukTbaffling wind prevailing. Rifleman A. Caldwell put up top score for the. day, with ,1 off the rifle.
