The Shaw-SaviH steamer Matatua, arrived from London last evening, and berthed alongside the Mahia at the King's Wharf. Tho vosscl left London empty for Southampton, where soldiers' wives, fianceen. and children were embarked. She left Southampton on December 18, -arrived at Cape Town on January 9, coaled there, and left on January 11. Fremantle was reached, and left on .January 28. She arrived at Adelaide on Fobruary 1, end sailed for Melbourne the Eamo day, arriving there on Februnry 4. The following da.y she sailed for Sydney and Newcastle. On Friday last tho vessel left Newcastle for Wellington. -Fine weather was experienced right throughout the trip. WIRELESS FROM RIMUTAKA. The New Zealand Shipping Company -jtdvised yesterday that a radio message haa been received from tho. captain of the Himutakn, which left Wellington on Saturday laßt for Homo, to the effect thai fine weather had so far been experienced. The message added;—" Mailing good progress; all well." RUAPEHU'S MOVEMENTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company's Ritapelnt left Lyttelton at noon yesterday for Duncdin to complete discharge. She will load there and at Lyttelton, returning to Wellington on February 27 to complete, and sailing for London on March 2. MANUKA FOR SYDNEY. The Manuka, due this morning from Lyttelton, is scheduled to sail at noon tomorrow for Sydney and Hobart, taking no cargo. PAPAROA TO LOAD. Tho Federal and Shire Line advise that the I'aparoa is to load at Bristol, Manchester, and Liverpool for New Zealand, via Panama. The vessel is to sail oil March 20, and la due at the end of .April. PORT NAPIER REPORTED. Tho Port Napier arrived at Sydney from London on Monday. She is expected to sail for Auckland, Napier, and AVelliimton next week, being due hero on March 8. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Cantaln V. G. Webb has taken command of the Mapourika, and Captain D. MacDonald has come nshoro. Captain J. Dutliic is now in command of the Ngatoro, in place of Captain A. T. Dowell. Captain H. G. Olson took command of tho Baden Powell yesterday, and Captain C. M'Pherson came nahorc., Mr. T. Bowling, extra officer of tho Monowal, cams ashore yesterday. Mr. J. Cargo will be received till 11 a.m. With a cargo of coal for Wellington tho Flora was to have left Westport last evening. Tho Waipori is expected to leave Westport to-day for Sydney. The Putiki ie due to-night from Napier with 280 caeks of pelts for transhipment to London, and 270 bales of hemp for tho Moana, The vessel is to load: crude oil ex Cyrcna.. and sail for Napier on Monday. The. Port Caroline left Port Chalmers at 5 a.m. yesterday for Whakatane. The Koutunui is due with a load of cement from Tarakohc to-day. After discharge she is to return for another cargo. Tho Blenheim, duo back from the Sounds on Saturday, i? to t-lien undergo overhaul! The Union collier Kanna is now loading a cargo of coal at Newcastle for Wellington. The Union Company's steamer Kurow, which is putting out 2000 tons of steel rails at Lyttelton for the Railway Department, besides a portion of lior IOCO tons of coal for the company's hulks, was to have sailed for Ocoan Island today, to load phosphates. That arrangement has now beep, cancelled, and tho vchscl Is to proceed to-morrow with the balance of hor coal to Wellington, and thence to Newcastle, to load a cargo of coal. The Government steamer llinenioa Is to leave Onehunsa this morning for Mantikau Head lighthouse and will clear Manukau Hcadfi this afternoon for tho Brothers and 1 Wellington. She is due to-morrow evening. The Argonno (New Zealand Shipping Co., agents) is expected to leave Wellington on Saturday for New Caledonia, Newcastle, and Sydney. Tho Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company advise that the Mahia will go on to Lyttelton and Duncdin next Monday. The F. and S. steamer Sussex is to leave Wellington to-morrow afternoon for Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. The vessel will p.robably load, in Australia for Home. The Waitcmata, is expectod to complete discharge of her coal cargo by Friday evening. Sho iB to load on Saturday and Monday for Auckland and Vancouver. The Northumberland is to leave Auckland to-day for Sydney to continue loading operations. She is to come back to Wellington to complete, and is to sail for Liverpool on March 10.
