PROPOSED ITINERARY FOR ROSS. ' Br Teleeranh—Press Association Auckland, February 17. The conference of delegates from swimming centres throughout New Zealand was continued to-day. Tho sub-committee appointed to consider matters in connection with the proposed visit of Norman Ross suggested the following itinerary: Wednesday, March 3, Dunedin; Marcli 5. Christcluirch; March G, Wellington; March 8, Napier; March 10, I'almerston North; March 11, Wanganui; March 13, Hamilton and prolnbly Rotorua; March 15, Auckland—leaving for America same day. The four large centres would liavo to contribute JEIS each and South Auckland, Manawatu, Napier and Wanganui ,£lO each. The report was adopted. It was decided to recommend the council to endeavour to make arrangements for a visit of two or threo Australian champion swimmers of each sex during next season, the team to include, if possible, fancy divers. It was decided to ask tho council to alter its rules so that swimming records for ladies, from 100 yards to one mile, could be recogniscd. CANTERBURY WTNS NELSON SHIELD. By Tolegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 17. Tho surf reel life-saving championship for the Nelson Shield was held to-day. Only two teams, Canterbury and Wellington, competed. The maximum .of points was 120. Canterbury won by 101 jioints against Wellington's total of 100. TIIO refereo said it was very difficult to decido between tho respective merits of tho teams as they used different methods. The judges had done the best they could in, tho circumstances.
