The fortnightly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took place last evening, the president, Mr, F. Mendowcroft, in the chair. The ijspeclor's report dealt with several cases of alleged cruelty to different classes of animals, two of which were considered serious enough to be brought before the Court. He also reported that one offender had been dealt with in tho court by a fine of, .£3, and £1 Gs. Bd. costs, since last meeting. Subscriptions received amounted to £17 35., including: ,£4 "Protector," Jil Is. each Roberts N.Z. Ltd, and It. F. Carvosso, ill Rev. J. A. MacKcnzie.
