CROQUET
SOME FINALS DECIDED. The croquet tournament at Petono was continued on Saturday, when some finals were decided. Results of the day's play are as under:— Dominion Ladies' Championship (fiiial). —Mrs. O'Donnell (Kelburn) played Mrs. Johnson (Hutt). Each competitor had won every game in her flection. Tho event was won by Mrs. Johnson with tho following scores: 26—21, ami 2(5 —17. Dominion. Club Pairs.—The iinal competitors were Mesdames Smith ai.d Hill (Ngaroma), and Mesdames O'Donnell and Hamilton (Kelburn). Mesdames Hill and Smith won the first game of the. rubber by 2G—22; Mesdames Hamilton and O'Donnell Hie second game by 26—It. Tho third game was brilliant, and took over three hours to complete. Mrs. Hamilton, at the commencement of the contest, made a break of eleven hoops— the best, so far of tho tournament—and was closely followed by Mrs. Smith, who made a break of six hoop*. When Mis. Hamilton became a "rover" Mrs. .Smith succteded in "pegging her out" and thus left Mi's. O'Donnell "solo" with tlreo points to make, which she accomplished bv brilliant play, and the game ended 26—1 U. . „
