(By Glbncok.)

Tho Taranaki meeting will be concluded to-day.

The Gisborne meeting is to open today, and K'ill bo concluded on Saturday.

The Hamilton meeting will bo hold on Saturday and Monday next. Acceptances for nil events at tho Egmont meeting close on Saturday. Master Moutoa, winner of tho hurdlo race at Now Plymouth yesterday, is owned by a popular Otaki sportsman formerly a patron of W. Davies's Hutt stables. Master Moutoa had previously won tho Trial Hurdles at Riccarton, so ho has been a cheap purchase for his owner.

Golden Bubble, who scored in tho Juvenile Handicap at tho Taranaki meetI ing, is owned by Mr. W. G. Stead, who I purchased him as a two-year-old for ISOOgns. This is his first success for tho owner of tho yellow jacket, but ho would seem to have more than an outsido clmnco in the Taranaki Stakes today, as he does not incur a penalty for yesterday's win, though ho loses the maiden allowanco of 71b. Tho stablo has also got the Taranaki Cup winner Surveyor engaged, but probably Golden Bubble will bo the sole representative. A. Goodman went south on Tuesday night, and to-day he is taking Rose Pink Russet, and Trentham Hoso on to Dnnedin, where they will race next week. Uazique, who always races well on tho Gieborue course, has been accepted for, in tho Cup run to-day. Ho is to bo ridden by J. Hockley, and is 6ure to have a large following. Trainer J. 11. Jefferd seems to hold a strong hand in tho Scurry at Gisbomo to-day. He lias engaged tho two-year-olds Caricature and Ohrysotum. Tho latter is a half-brother to Sweet, Tipperary, but it is ngainst him that ho has not had a race, while Caricature has several placed performances to his credit. , „

Amongst the .runners in the hurdles ' at Gisbomo to-day is Chillies, who made a goad showing in his only previous race over fences. Thi9 was at the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Spring Meeting in October. Consequent upon his good form in tho spring, Tnri will not lack supporters for tJie Wi Pure Memorial Handicap at Gisborne to-day. Handicaps for tho Egmont and Woodvillo meetings are due on Friday. The Tauherenikau trainer. A. M'Aulay, has taken Kilrush, Arrowsmith, and Daytime to the Hamilton meeting, which opens on Saturday. The two first-named may add further to their winning lists. Petunia (Absurd—Bronze), ono of It. J. Mason's team, is showing pace in his work at Riccarton, and it is predicted for him that he will get on the winning list before tho season closes: The Blenheim champion Brackcnfield has been purchased by Mr. F. S. Rutherford, who has handed the Bonii'orm gelding to W. M'Donald to train at Ricarton. ~ _ . The Fordell horseman C. Prico contemplates retiring from the riding game, j and is shortly taking over a hotel m lno Feihling district.
