By Telegraph—Press Association, i Dunedin, February A. There were full supplies of fat stock in nil departments at Burnsido to-day. Prices on the whole were somewhat easier, with tho exception of pigs. In the, face of these reductions it is highly probable that a reduction, in the retail price of meat will follow. There wero large yardings of fat cattle, a total of 253 head being offered. Tho varding comprised animals froir, fair to good nualitv. Prices for good quality beef were a shade easier than last week, un finished showing a sharp decline. Quotations:—Best bullocks, <£12 to .£24; medium. .£lB to .£l9; inferior, .£l3 to .fill. Best cows—Heifers, 4:13 10s. to .£ls; medium. £U to .£l2 10s.; inferior, to JIIO lis. lfld. There was a. large yardins of store cattle, which comprised various grades of quality. The demand on .the whole was slack, and prices showed a redaction of from ss. to 10s. a head compared with late rates. Trero wero good vnrdings of fat sheep. The yardings wore of mixed quality. The total number offered was 2205. Cooipetition was fair at the commencement of tho sale, but dragged towards the close, and prices were reduced from Is. to Is. Gd. per head for wethers, and from Is. fid. to 2s. a head for ewes, compared with Into rates. Extra prime heavy-weight wethers made from 50s. to GOs.; prime, to 405.; medium, to 355.; lighter kinds, from 28s, upwards. Extra primo heavy- , weight eww made up to 555. Gd.; prime, 355. to 435. ;medium, 30s. t0.345; light and aged made from 235. upwards. There was a. large yarding of fat lambs, numbering 1053 head. A fair quality was offered. The market was kept steady by freezing operators buying. This competition, together with that of the butchers, kept prices for lambs on a level with those which ruled at last week's sale. Prices ransed from 14s. to 325. a head; best brought 28s. to 325.; medium, 235. to 255.: inferior, 19s. to 215.; stores, lis. tn 14s. There was a medium yarding of pigs, the number offered being insufficient to meet the demand. Competition wns keen, but fat pigs were easier by 10s. n head than they were at last sales. Best baconers made from Is. to Is. Id. per lb.; and best porkers from Is. Id. to Is. 2d. per lb. 'store pigs wero in Mean demand.
