SUNDAY OBSERVANCE
Sydney, February 4. A resolution was adopted by the Goulburn Anglican Synod deploring the growing tendency to secularise Sunday, but at the same' time reminding church people that thero is nothing inconsistent with Christian principles in physical or social recreation on the Lord's Day, provided it is subordinated to the primary claims of divine worship. The resolution has led to much newspaper controversy. A poll of Temora ratepayers strongly favoured Sunday sport, while two "Sabbath observance" aldermen were defeated.— Press Assn.
